DUNK ISLAND
Dunk Island, the largest of the Family Islands, was known to the first inhabitants as 'Coonanglebah' - the Island of Peace and Plenty. Today, Dunk continues to be Australia's most beautiful rainforest island.
Most of the island is National Park, with unique tracts of virgin rainforests, sweeping arcs of golden sand and turquoise seas. Guests visiting Dunk Island will gain an immediate sense of being in a tropical paradise delighting in the perfect harmony created by balancing rainforest views with vistas of brilliant blue sky.
Dunk offers an enormous variety of activities. Rainforest walks allow visitors to take in the spectacular views from the summit of Mt Kootaloo. Other activities on offer are guided round island jet ski tours, snorkelling over bommies at Naturalist Beach, tennis, parasailing, squash…the list is endless.
There are also day trips available to the Great Barrier Reef, an Artists' Colony, Spa treatments, horse riding on the beach, and fishing! Most importantly Dunk Island is a haven of tranquillity, relaxation and beauty.
